Using the site.

A: - pictures should be JPEG format

- before setting up a gallery you should shrink your photos to a size that will display well
- I use 800 x 600; but you could also use 640 x 480
- pictures default on my digital camera at 1600 x 1200 â?? this will end up being too big to display for most people

- you should compress your pictures to something reasonable like < 100k per picture
- pics come off my 2.3M camera at around 600k per pictureâ?¦ this is too large and I think will be rejected.

- if you are adding multiple pictures (which is mostly likely going to be the case):
- put all your shrunken (ex 800x600) and compressed (< 100k) pictures into a folder and ZIP them
- when you are at the spot in setting up the gallery where you can upload a picture â?? simply upload the ZIP file; the site will automatically un-ZIP, create thumbnails, index pictures, split them up into pages, etcâ?¦ very slick!!

A: Yes, yes there is... but it seems to be a little hard for most people to find.

If you look under and to the right of the "Weather" notice in the top part of the page - you will see a small link titled MyPreferences . Selecting this will bring you to a page where you can adjust things like:

- whether or not your info is public
- add a picture of yourself
- change the language this site displays for you in (but not sure how well that works for some features).
- a few other things as well

A: Only editors can make galleries. Sorry; if I get enough requests I may allow any registered user to add galleries.

If you would like to be an Editor though; just send me an email (click little envelope icon to the left of the weather thingy) to request editor rights and I will hook ya up.

A: Not all the galleries are "public galleries". When an editor sets up a new gallery - they may decide to not allow other members to post to this gallery. Most galleries are public though.

Also, if you are trying to upload a large ZIP file of pictures there may be size problems. See the comments on the FAQ topics regarding Submitting Pics.
