Volleyball Canada and the City of Gatineau are pleased to announce that they will be hosting a major international volleyball event this August: the 2010 NORCECA Junior Men's Continental Championship. The event will be taking place August 16-21 and will be held at the newly opened Centre Sportif de Gatineau.
NORCECA stands for the North & Central America and Caribbean Confederation, and is one of five continental confederations within the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The 2010 NORCECA Junior Men’s Championship is scheduled to include 11 teams: Canada, Cuba, USA, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago, Honduras, Guatemala, Martinique and St. Lucia.
The event will not only determine the newest continental champion and offer valuable world ranking points, but will also offer three berths to the 2011 FIVB World Junior Championships.
Tickets are now on sale though Capital Tickets. You can purchase your tickets online at www.capitaltickets.ca, at 1-877-788-FANS (3267) or at any Capital Tickets outlet location. The ticket prices are $12 for a day, $44 for the week and $9.75 for groups of 10 people or more. *service charges applicable
The championship schedule is as follows:
• Monday, August 16 Preliminary Round
• Tuesday, August 17 Preliminary Round
• Wednesday, August 18 Preliminary Round
• Thursday, August 19 Quarterfinals
• Friday, August 20 Semifinals
• Saturday, August 21 Finals
The exact schedule will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
